The Dundee Scots are closing in on first place HAC as they hit their stride, defeating Romulus Naples  and  DeSales

The Dundee Scots Boy’s Basketball team is firing on all cylinders as the 2007/8 High School basketball season heads down the home stretch.  Using a tenacious, high pressure defense that forces a multitude of turnovers and an up-tempo transition offense that turns opponent’s mistakes into points, the Scots are making a run toward a Finger Lakes West title.  The very athletic Scotmen seem to be peaking at just the right time.  They reeled off three league wins last week to raise their Finger Lakes West numbers to 9-2, 12-2 overall.  In the process, the sizzling Scots have pulled to within 1/2 game of first place HAC.

On Tuesday evening, the Maroon and White traveled across Seneca Lake to take on the Romulus Warriors.  Dundee jumped off to a 25-19 halftime lead and poured it on with a 23-8 run in the third quarter en route to an easy 70-37 victory over the hometown Romulans.

Rocky Martini took game scoring honors with 14 points including five for five from the foul line.  Justin Schenck and Gerard Conyers each added 10 points for Dundee.
On Thursday night, Dundee hosted the Big Green from Naples.  The Scots
controlled the game outscoring Naples in every quarter dribbling off with a 64-42 conquest of the Green team.  Brent Ayers knocked down 13 points to lead the Scot’s soaring offense.  Rocky Martini and Gerard Conyers added 12 and 11 points respectively.  Super Sub Dylan Hastings pulled down eight rebounds and Mason Brown keyed the defense with three steals.

The Maroon Machine continued to roll over opponents on Saturday night in Geneva.  After a sluggish start, the Scots turned up their game a notch and pulled away from the DeSales Saints 72-49 for their third win of the week.

After leading by 10 points at halftime, Dundee pulled away in the second half to gain their ninth league win in 12 tries.

Rocky Martini poured in 19 points to lead Dundee.  Brent Ayers picked up 14 points, 10 of which came in the third quarter.  Dylan Hastings chipped in 10 points and Justin Schneck added 8 points.
