Manahan devoted extensive time to the Cardiac Scramble golf tournament to benefit the rehabilitation program.
A plaque, memorializing Deborah “Debbie” Manahan, has been placed in the Cardiac Rehabilitation exercise area at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital.
Manahan, who died in March 2007, devoted extensive time to the “Cardiac Scramble”, a golf tournament fundraiser, which benefits the rehabilitation program at the hospital.
A community leader, she was a retired physical education teacher and golf coach at Penn Yan Academy, a championship golfer at Lakeside Country Club and active in numerous community organizations.
“Debbie was a remarkable person, and an important contributor to the success of the ‘Cardiac Scramble’. She had a lasting impact upon PYA students, golf team members and all who were privileged to have known her,” noted Harold Gray, Executive Director of Finger Lakes Health Foundation.
