The Mustangs homecoming effort comes up short.

Homecoming weekend is hoped to be a special event with the home team bringing home a big win for their fans.

For the Penn Yan Mustang gridiron team, this feel-good script did not play out last Friday.
Penn Yan ran into a very talented East Rochester/ Gananda team and could not deliver the homecoming victory. The Monroe County Bombers raced to a 23-0 halftime lead. They added a score in the third quarter and eased to a 30-0 win over the Mustangs.

The hometown Orange and Blue could not produce any consistent offense all evening. The East Rochester defense and offense controlled the line of scrimmage most of the game, preventing the Mustangs from getting any momentum.

Penn Yan hopes to get back on the winning track next Friday at home against Batavia.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.  It will be the Mustang's final scheduled home game of the 2008 season.
The Orange and Blue's season record drops to 1-3 overall, 1-2 in the Finger Lakes Central with Friday's loss.

Batavia will be coming off a win over Midlakes.
