Mildred Elaine (Gelder) Harilaou-Krause, 62, of Hudson, Fla., formerly of Pulteney, died on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 after losing her battle with liver cancer.

Family and friends called from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25 at the LaMarche Funeral Home, Hammondsport, and the funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 26 in the Shuman Cemetery in Potter.

Born on Sept. 25, 1948, she was the daughter of Herbert Vincent and Hattie Mae Scott Gelder. She married Georgios Harilaou and was widowed in 1982. She then married George Kraus in 1988.

Millie was a beautician, owning and operating shops in Penn Yan and Canandaigua. She later aspired to be a nurse. After moving to Florida in 1991, she was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, George Kraus and daughter, Dimitra Harilaou of Florida, and extended family in New York, Connecticut, Arizona and Greece.

She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Gerald, Philip, and Charles Gelder; sisters Elsie Overhiser and Doris Somogyi; nephews Charlie Overhiser and Chris Gelder.
