Sharlene P. Snyder, 76, of Dundee, died Wednesday January 26, 2011 at Schuyler Hospital, Montour Falls.
The family received friends before the service, and at a reception following on Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Dundee Baptist Church, with Pastor Karen Davenport officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Baptist Church, 20 Seneca Street, Dundee, 14837; or the Dundee Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, 14837.
Sharlene was born June 6, 1934 in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of Ernest and Mary Back Kidwell. In January of 1954 in Euclid, Ohio, she married Robert Pettet, who passed away on April 19, 1983. On February 24, 1990, in Mentor, Ohio, she married Lloyd R. Snyder; they have lived locally since then.
Sharlene had been a secretary for Kucera & Associates, an Aerial Photography Company in Mentor Ohio, retiring in 1982. She was an active and devoted member of Dundee Baptist Church, volunteering countless hours with the Clothes Closet. She enjoyed sewing, doll making, cooking and baking.
She is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband of 20 years, Lloyd R. Snyder at home; their five children, Patricia Floro of Chardon, Ohio, Gary R. (Darla) Pettet and James W. Pettet, both of Rocky Mount, N.C., Lynda L. (Steven) Lopresti of Montour Falls, and Richard K. (Susan) Snyder of Melbourne, Australia; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Johnson of Marengo, Ohio, and Jacque Kidwell of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Jean Haggerty of Roswell, N.M., and Phyllis Yruegas of Tucson, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
