Yates County Arts Center (YCAC) is holding its annual Studio Tour and Art Sale on Saturday, Aug. 7 and Sunday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Travel around Keuka Lake stopping at the studios of the many fine artists in the Finger Lakes area.
Artists will be demonstrating their creative work while giving the public an opportunity to observe the process and the artists’ studios.
Organizer of this event, Carol Conti states, “We hope to give the community, our visitors, and tourists an opportunity to see ‘art where it happens’.”
In an effort to limit the travel time and see more artists at work, Conti explains: “We have clustered some of our artists who live farther away or do not have designated studios.
In this way, YCAC will give a greater exposure to both the artist and the visitor.”
Participating at Yates Sunny Point are artists Sam Castner, Barbara Radigan, Dusti Rhoades, Fred Brockway and Tammy Ladd.
Artists at The Art Barn are Stephen Cooper, Fran Bliek and Char DiGennaro. Lisa Saether and Janis Long will be at the Lisa Saether Studio.
Three collaborating pottery studios are an easy drive from one another and include Havill Pottery, Summerville Pottery and Mark Klammer Pottery. Hawkridge Studios will house artists Diane Satterfield Berlyn, Sheldon Berlyn, and Kent Salisbury.
The studios of Hannelore Wolcott Bailey and Bonnie Barney are easily accessible as is the Yates County Arts Center where Mary Harmony will be demonstrating jewelry making and giving visitors an opportunity to be creative.
Guests will find painters, photographers, sculptors, printmakers, ceramic artists, and jewelers.
“The Central Finger Lakes area is packed with talent. Visit our artists and see art where it happens!” says YCAC Director Susan Harris.
