After Elvis shipped off to serve his country and before the Beatles wanted to hold your hand, along came a musical time period that reflected the innocence and energy of the time: girl groups of the 60’s.

Life was simple on the surface, but the early 60’s portrayed a time of high school adolescents coming of age and falling in love for the first time.  It was a time of rebels without a cause wearing leather jackets and the young ladies who worshipped the ground they walked on.
It’s My Party! will be performing Wednesday, July 21 at the Yates County Courthouse lawn in Penn Yan.  The concert starts at 6:30 p.m., and this concert promises to be uniquely different than any concert you have ever seen.

It’s My Party! is a teen singing trio, backed by an eight-piece ensemble.  The ensemble consists of bass and rhythm guitars, drums, keyboards, and is enhanced by a horn section.  This group provides family entertainment and transports you back to a time when music was fun.
Styled after the 60’s girl groups, this group of ladies delivers a performance, not merely a string of songs.  The visual effect of the girls’ attire reflects tailored period dresses and hairstyles.  Their harmony is showcased by their well-choreographed dance movements.

The music consists of influences of Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, Carol King, and of course, Lesley Gore, along with various female groups..  However, there will be some original music representative of this great female talent.  The trio will be available to greet the public and will have CD’s of some of their recordings to sell.

This concert is free and open to the public.  Bring your own lawn chairs, as this is an outdoor concert.
In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held indoors in the adjoining Baptist Church.  Featured intermission sales will be sponsored by Soldiers and Sailors Hospital Auxiliary.  There’s plenty of free parking
