A cast of youngsters who have been attending the PYTCo Youth Camp will present Aladdin Jr. at the Penn Yan Middle School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5, 6 and 7.

Aladdin Jr. was chosen for this year’s show because as challenging as it has been to put together, it has been a lot of fun, says director Grace Knapton.

The story follows the same story line as the Disney movie, which made it easier for the children, she says.

The PYTCo (Pennsylvania Yankee Theatre Company) camp runs for just three weeks and in that time, Knapton and her staff manage to put together the production of Aladdin Jr.

The cast ranges in age from 4 to 14. “They have all done great with this show,” Knapton says.

The cast includes: Jackson Arnold as Aladdin; Ashley Owens as Jasmine; Josh Kayn as Jafar; Philip Gaston as Sultan; Alex Cox as Abu; Brayden Webber as Genie; Maddy Martini as Iago; Colin Cummings as Rozoul; Keegan Baxter, Bailey Strong, Ben Oswald, Blaise Cox, Nick Strong and Dylan Hassos as the guards; Cami Webber, Alycia Moravec, Garret Spoor, Sarah Hyser and Taylin Bower as the narrators.

Also, Paul Gaston and Lucas Page as Magic Carpet; Abby Bodine, Addyson Webber, Brian Holister, Cadence Cummings, Faith Rhinehart, Gavin Rhinehart, Jayden Hollister, Lexi Strong, Lilly Rodger, Noah Strong, Parker Hyser, Porcha Radcliffe, Serenity Rodgers, Spencer Rodgers and Sydney Moravec as the Chorus.
