The Dine-Around-Keuka (DAK) extravaganza on Keuka Lake is a benefit event, beginning with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, at The Esperanza Mansion, followed by scrumptious dinners prepared by various hosts at over 26 area homes.
The $100 dollar per plate donations will benefit the KCCH Endowment Fund, further ensuring that the Keuka Comfort Care Home, a two bedroom palliative care home for the terminally ill, will be in place long after its current benefactors have moved on.
To date, 54 families have been touched by the care the Home has given to their loved ones. The Home truly becomes their home while they continue their journey.
Bill and Nancy Feinstein believe that the Keuka Comfort Care Home provides an invaluable service to our community, and have agreed to not only chair the 2010 DAK event this year, but to be a host couple as well. Because they have been recently involved with end of life hospice care for their parents, Bill and Nancy have seen firsthand the vital role that facilities like the Keuka Comfort Care Home can play in comforting patients and their families at a very difficult moment in time.
Bill McEvily, President of the Keuka Comfort Care Home, expressed his appreciation for the Feinstein’s willingness to assume the chairmanship of the 2010 DAK event.
Bill Schrouder, Chairman of the KCCH Endowment Fund, has been working closing with Bill and Nancy, as well as the rest of the 2010 DAK committee, to insure that this year’s event will be outstanding.
The 2010 DAK Committee welcomes anyone who would like to host or attend a dinner this year. The dinners are fun, casual get-togethers with friends, neighbors and new folks who want to have an amicable evening for a worthwhile cause.
This is a great way to meet new people in the area and spread the word about how wonderful the Keuka Comfort Care Home has been to this community and the surrounding areas.
To participate, either as a guest at a home or if you would like to host a dinner, contact the Keuka Comfort Care Home at 315-536-1690 for more information or visit our website: Keukacomfortcarehome.org.
