PYTCo. recreates 1940s radio theatre at Elks Club to benefit Sampson renovation

The Penn Yan Theatre Co. (PYTCo.) will recreate a night of radio from 1943, performed for you live at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Penn Yan Elks, where The Sampson Players will be performing three classic radio shows live on stage.

Spend an evening with the classic suspense thriller, “Sorry Wrong Number,” which originally starred famed actress Agnes Morehead, known for her film roles in Citizen Caine, Showboat, the Magnificent Ambersons, and on television as Endora on Bewitched.

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt will be there for one of his Fireside Chats, followed by Jack Carson, Lucille Ball, and Monty Wooley in “The House Hunt” a wartime comedy skit from The Jack Carson Show, with jokes that will have you laughing all night long! Plus your favorite Big Band Hits of the era.

Tickets are $8 with all proceeds benefiting the Sampson Theatre rehabilitation. Admission includes a selection of desserts.

Show up, tune in, and relive the live radio broadcasts of the 1940s, all to support the Sampson Theatre.
