There will be a concert of sacred and classical music at St. Michael’s Church at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 11.
The program will showcase the newly donated Steinway baby grand piano while also providing an opportunity to hear some of the fine musicians in the area.
One of the featured musicians is violinist Dylan Kennedy, son of Ed and Debbie Kennedy, and grandson of Hannelore Wolcott-Bailey.
He currently studies at Eastman School of Music with the distinguished Kilbourne Professor Zvi Zeitlin.
Dylan is assistant concertmaster of Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra and in 2010 was the winner in the string category of the Hochstein Recital Competition.
In addition, he will also be playing the piano. Other pianists performing will be Dr. Dennis Murphy, retired education professor from Keuka College, and Father Bob Ring, Pastor of Our Lady of the Lakes.
Vocalists include Rose Jensen, Ann McMullen, Father Bob Ring, Margaret Rollins and Kent Salisbury.
A special treat will be a vocal ensemble comprised of some of the youth from St. Michael’s: Reid and Ryan Costner, Jonah Pielow, Julie Scott, Alice and Michaela Swarthout and Casey Switzer.
