The Village of Penn Yan Police are asking for assistance in locating 83-year-old Marilyn “Lynn” Whitaker, who was last seen walking on Stark Avenue in the Village of Penn Yan between 10 and 11 a.m. on Friday Jan. 22.
Penn Yan Police Chief Mark Hulse says a reward fund has been established and will be presented to the person providing information that leads police to the location of Mrs. Whitaker.
Mrs. Whitaker is 100 lbs., approximately 5 ft. tall, has blue-grey eyes, grey hair, and was last seen wearing a white/tan ¾ length winter coat, white winter hat and scarf. Mrs. Whitaker suffers from dementia and has other health issues.
Police have had several reported sightings of Mrs. Whitaker on Stark Avenue, Sheppard Street, North Avenue, Elm Street and 54A area near the Keuka Business Park. All of the sightings that have been reported were from Friday Jan. 22, 2010 and the sightings in the Elm Street and 54A Keuka Business Park area were in the late afternoon. Police are still actively pursuing leads and other information that come in regarding Mrs. Whitaker.
