Three men were arrested in Dundee on Feb. 1 after New York State Parole conducted a home inspection and found parolee Shaking A. Smith to be in possession of marijuana.

Smith, 32, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and violation of parole. He will appear in Dundee Village Court on Feb. 17 to answer the possession charge, and he was placed in Yates County Jail to await a parole board hearing.

Yates County Sheriff's Department Sgt. John Warner reports that it was determined there was an outstanding bench warrant of arrest for another occupant of the residence, Lavon B. Birden, 17. The warrant was issued by the City of Rochester Court for failing to appear for court on an original charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Birden was arrested and turned over to the Rochester Police Department with the assistance of New York State Police.

James A. Austin, 22, 5019 Lakemont-Himrod Road, Dundee, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
