Communities need to work together to minimize the negative impacts of horizontal gas drilling. That’s the advice of William Pammer, Commissioner of Planning & Environmental Management for Sullivan County, who will speak at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 20.

There is a moratorium on horizontal well drilling statewide, until August or September. Local governments need to be prepared before hundreds of permits are issued and the major impacts on roads and resources begin.

Find out what citizens and local officials can do at his talk in the Yates County auditorium.
