David W. and Janet Moss Hopkins of E. Sherman Hollow Road, Penn Yan, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise anniversary party held at the Penn Yan Moose Club on Nov. 1.
The party, attended by family and friends, was hosted by their children and grandchildren.
The Hopkins were married on Oct. 30, 1959 in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. Banks of the Branchport United Methodist Church. Their attendants were Anton Dinehart and Judy (Moss) Dinehart.
Their first residence was an apartment on Main Street in Branchport.
Both are now retired. Dave from his own business, H&H Fiberglass and Janet from the business office at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital.
The Hopkins children are John (Kim) Hopkins and Brenda (Peter) Chapman. They also have six granddaughters.
