Milly’s Pantry was honored at the 2009 Friend of the Extension at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Yates County’s Annual Dinner in December.
Milly Bloomquist, her daughter, Becky Holder, and George and Carolyn Shaeffer were on hand to accept the award.
The annual dinner, attended by about 70 people, was held at Anthony Road Wine Company in the town of Torrey.
Following the annual meeting, Dr. Tim Martinson and Peter Martini made a presentation on “Sustainable Viticulture and Beyond.”
Milly’s Pantry, inspired by the volunteer efforts of Milly Bloomquist, supports the Weekend Backpack program for children.
