The Dundee Library is presenting its eighth annual series of free Seneca Street Park summer concerts, to be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on five Thursdays in July and August.

The dates are July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29 and August 5. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the concerts will be held in the Baptist church next to the park. The concerts are free, but donations are welcome.

The first concert, July 8, will feature Dundee's own Roy Litteer and His Band, with their emphasis on old-time country music and humor.

On July 15, the Rochester-based  John Bolger Band will bring blues and swing.

On July 22, the men of the Finger Lakes Barbershop Chorus will return with their vocal harmonies.

On July 29, banjo player Mike Brooks will be joined by fiddlers and other string players who perform together as 43 Main Street.

Lori Jane and the Cowboys, led by Lori Jane Knapp, will present the season’s final concert, a mix of country and bluegrass, on August 5.

Everyone is invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the refreshments along with the music. The concert committee has invited area non-profit organizations to set up booths providing food, beverages and/or information, with any proceeds going to those organizations.

The DCS National Honor Society will once again provide homemade pies, the Dundee Area Historical Society will have its barbecued beef and/or pork sandwiches for sale, the First Baptist church will make homemade ice cream, and other groups will offer beverages, popcorn and other goodies.

Local businesses and organizations help to underwrite the series with contributions that are listed in the printed programs distributed at each concert.
For more information, please contact the Dundee Library, 32 Water Street, at 607-243-5938.
