The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in an area of Central New York that includes Yates, Seneca, Steuben and Schuyler Counties.
Light snow accumulations will be followed by light freezing rain and sleet with snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches along with a slight glaze of ice.
Light snow will spread across the region during the morning hours, then transition to a light wintry mix during the afternoon before changing to rain later Tuesday evening.
Snow and ice accumulations will create hazardous driving conditions and strong winds will lead to scattered power outages. Winds will be south 15 ro 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Temperatures will be in the mid 20s, then rise to the mid 30s.
