If you believe in such things, when you think of Michael Linehan, remember the beautiful snowfall early this morning. When the big fluffy flakes began to fall over Yates County, perhaps it was his way of showering us all with his love one last time.
Mike, President/CEO of the Yates County Chamber of Commerce, passed away unexpectedly at 4 a.m. Feb. 15, 2017.
The cause of death is undetermined, and funeral arrangements have not been finalized.
Yates County and the New York State Tourism industry truly benefitted from Mike's passion. "He served the chamber for over 20 years. His enthusiasm and love for Yates County and Upstate New York are the reasons he was chosen to lead the chamber," stated Mike Manahan, former chamber board chair.
Kathy Waye, current chamber chair, praised Linehan as a tireless advocate for local businesses. With his sudden death, the board will continue moving forward in following Linehan's vision as president.
Both Manahan and Waye stated how much Mike will be sorely missed. His energy, thoughtfulness, and commitment were contagious.
"Yates County lost a dear friend today," said Waye.
