Rotary’s Flights of Fancy: Finger Lakes Wine Classic announces the select food vendors for wine pairings at the May 20 tasting at the Hampton Inn.

The Saturday afternoon event features 24 invited wineries pouring and selling Finger Lakes Appellation wines, six food pairing vendors, four chef demonstrations, and music by Artistic License. 

TOP OF THE LAKE: Korean barbecue pork ribs, Asian slaw, toasted cashew garnish; Caprese salad skewer with heirloom tomato, fresh mozzarella and grilled shrimp with blood orange vinaigrette and a chili oil mist; spicy grilled chicken sliders, served open-faced with siracha mayo, arugula and candied double cut bacon

EASTSIDE GRILL: Mini burgers with sautéed onions; Texas hot dog bites in our own meat sauce; Buffalo mac and cheese with chicken.

AROUND THE CORNER CATERING: sweetpea and cashew ravioli with sautéed asparagus, peas and pesto; spinach salad with strawberries and poppy seed dressing; leek and potato soup with braid of bread; chocolate pound cake with strawberries and whipped cream.

PAD THAI CATERING: pad thai; egg rolls; pho or chicken satay; spring rolls; pan fried chicken dumplings

OWENS CATERING: lamb chop lollipops in cab franc sauce; tapas skewer with olive, cheese, and serrano ham; sun dried tomato with goat cheese on cayenne toast; desert is chocolate bonbon

SILVERBIRD: pulled pork over wine poached pears on a medley of greens; braised short rib sliders; spinach salad with strawberry cider vinaigrette

Hosted in conjunction with the Yates County Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary event will run from 2 to 7 p.m. with music by Artistic License on the tented patio facing beautiful Keuka Lake. Advance tickets are $30 and can be purchased at Lyons National Bank, Community Bank and online Tickets will be $35 at the event. As a fundraiser, Rotary will be pouring wine by the glass from participating wineries so tasters can get a better idea of preferences. Bottle sales will be available from wineries. Don’t miss the Chef demonstrations at 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30 and the two special raffle items.

And for the full weekend, come to the no-charge Friday night kickoff at the Hampton Inn under the tent 5-9 p.m. with music by Top Shelf, thanks to our stage sponsor, Welliver Construction. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. An information packed History Hike will also be held on the Outlet Trail from 10 a.m. to noon with speakers stationed at Birkett Mills, Milo Mill and Seneca Mill (Lions Parking lot).
