The Penn Yan Elks Lodge #1722 with area Boy & Girl Scout Troops held their annual ceremony to commemorate our nation’s flag Sunday, June 11 at the Old Yates County Courthouse. The scouts presented each version of the flags used by America over the course of its history, as the lodge officers read the origins of each design and the significant events that accompanies them.

Flag Day is today, Wednesday, June 14, and the Penn Yan Elks encourage all citizens to fly the flag(s) on this day especially, to remember the freedoms it represents and the debts we owe to all those who have lived and died to keep it flying.
