The Folk Art Guild will kick off the Fall craft season by hosting its annual Open House and Apple Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15. This unique celebration of local art, food, and music takes place at the Rochester Folk Art Guild, 1445 Upper Hill Road in Middlesex.

This free event offers a variety of activities ranging from live local music, cider pressing, artist demos, a homegrown farm lunch, fresh baked artisan breads, tours of the six workshops and the East Hill Gallery. Organic fruit grown at the Guild will be available for tasting and for sale, and there will be fun activities for children.

A not-for-profit arts community and educational institution, the Guild began its work in crafts 60 years ago. Located for the last 50 years on the 350-acre farm near Middlesex, the Guild has grown to receive worldwide recognition for its handcrafts, which have found their place in museums, private collections, shops, and galleries through the United States and abroad. The Guild also offers workshops for adults and conducts educational outreach programs for children.
