Keuka Comfort Care Home, a two-bedroom palliative care home, is celebrating its 10th Anniversary. To kick off a yearlong celebration, the home offers a talk by Dr. Cheryl Williams, “Preparing for The Conversation - When to Consider Hospice Care” from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 17 at Top of the Lake Restaurant, 301 Lake St., Penn Yan. The talk is free and open to the public.
Dr. Williams is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center and Director of the Palliative Care program at UR Thompson Hospital. She has been the medical director for Ontario-Yates Hospice for nine years. She is board certified in Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Her practice focuses on patients and families undergoing treatment of serious diseases and for end of life care. “Dr. Williams has a kind and gentle way of discussing a difficult subject that is important for all of us to address at some point in our life. I am thrilled that Dr. Williams has agreed to speak at this event,” says Donna Payne, Director of Keuka Comfort Care Home.”We are also planning several special events throughout the year to help us celebrate our 10th Anniversary and thank the community for their continued support.”
