An evening of Scottish heritage fun, will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at the American Legion, Spring Street, Dundee.
The Midwinter Ceilidh, an evening of Scottish heritage fun, will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at the American Legion, Spring Street, Dundee.
Hosted by Highlander Josh Kane and Lady Scot Whysper Davis, the Ceilidh is an opportunity for community members to provide entertainment as well as enjoy it. In addition to a DJ, pipers, and percussionists, guests are invited to join in the fun and to share a song, poem, story, instrumental, joke or skit, says Robyn Ballard, one of the program’s organizaers, adding, “Either way, it promises to be an enjoyable evening of food, community, and entertainment.”
The evening includes Scottish sideboards and appetizers, dancing, entertainment, basket raffles, a 50/50 drawing, and cash bar.
Proceeds benefit Dundee Highlander and Lady Scot Scholarship Program. The following Dundee area youth have served as Dundee Highlander and Lady Scot since the program began in 2013:
• 2013-’14: Jeff Koehler and Jessica Vasquez
• 2014-’15: Cameron Howell and Anna Gilbert;
• 2015-’16: Ryan Goodman and Caley Knapp
• 2016-’17: Cody Reik and Renee Wolverton
• 2017-’18: Joshua Kane and Whysper Davis
