Russell C. Travis, 81, passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2018 with his loving family by his side.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Kimberly Lyons will be held at 11 a.m. May 19 at Milo Center Methodist Church. A private burial will be held. Russell was born on Nov. 10, 1936 into the arms of Claude and Harriett Travis. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1954. Russell proudly worked for Penn Yan Express for over 20 years, later retiring from Howard’s Express in Auburn.
He was a charter member of the Penn Yan Moose Lodge and a lifetime member of the Penn Yan Elks Lodge. He enjoyed playing cards, golf, western movies and a good joke.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Betsy; his children Pamela Webster, Michael Travis, Michele (Quent) Gardner; stepchildren, Douglas (Stacy) Wills and Jennifer (Doug) Dolaway; grandchildren, Katelyn, Gary, Christy, Ryan and Rachel; step-grandchildren, Krystal, Steven, Jonathan and Matthew, step-great-grandchildren, Mikalah, Mackenzie, Jesse, Landon and Madison; aand his sister, Mildred Koek.
Russell was predeceased by a son, Ronald Kennedy; his parents, and his siblings, Howard Travis, Lillian Strong and Donald Travis.
