Voters in the Penn Yan and Dundee School Districts approved budgets for the 2018-2019 school year and elected new members to the board of education.
The election for four seats on the Board of Education ended with a tie for fourth place verified by an audit of absentee ballots.
Superintendent Howard Dennis reports that after Candidate Aimee Perry withdrew from the race, the candidate she was tied with, Leslie Elliott, secured the fourth seat on the board, which is for an unexpired term for two years. Perry and Elliott each had 427 votes. Elliott will take the oath of office May 23.
Others who were elected to the Penn Yan Board of Education were Emily Dinehart with 491 votes, Alicen Yonts with 486, and incumbent Renee Bloom with 454.
