Over 160 people gathered at Climbing Bines Hop Farm and Brewery overlooking Seneca Lake June 2 for the Yates County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner, where individuals were honored for their contributions to the chamber and Yates County.
President and CEO Jessica Bacher spoke about the progress the chamber has made over the past challenging months since the sudden death of former CEO Michael Linehan. She praised the efforts and dedication of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, presenting the Robert Maxwell Memorial Award to all of the directors.
The Norman Snow Jr. Memorial Spirit Award was presented to Philip Rahr, vice president of the Friends of the Outlet, a volunteer organization that owns most of the Keuka Outlet Trail. Rahr, who is also an athletic trainer at Keuka College, was recognized for his work promoting the trail and organizing special events.
The Emily Seager Memorial Pride Award was presented to Kari Bezek, an executive at Lyons National Bank who is a director of the Yates Young Professionals group and who coaches Penn Yan girls lacrosse.
State Sen. Tom O’Mara and Assemblyman Phil Palmesano presented George and Debbie Lawson, owners of Finger Lakes Media, with a proclamation honoring the 140th anniversary of The Observer weekly newspaper.
