Cruisin' Night will be held on Main Street in Penn Yan from 5 to 9 p.m. June 15

It’s time for the 22nd Annual Cruisin’ Night and Block Party in downtown Penn Yan.

“The weather is going to be on our side and we are looking forward to setting a new record of show vehicles,” says Jessica Bacher, CEO of the Yates County Chamber of Commerce, explaining organizers are planning a great night with classic and antique vehicles filling Main Street, Penn Yan from 5 to 9 p.m. June 15.

Additions to the street festival which helps kick-off the summer season in Penn Yan are food trucks and a Seneca Farms booth scooping delicious ice cream. Roadmasters, a classic auto, and motorcycle business located in Wayne is helping with the vehicle parking and are sponsoring the live band for the night.

“Blue” Lou and the Rhythm Aces will be playing your favorite Classic Rock hits on the Main Street bridge. Of course, the classic DJ will be on the North End of Main Street for entertainment in that area.

The Arc of Yates is organizing a family fun area in the pavilion at the Lake Street Playground, where kids will find a number of activities, and the highlight of the evening will be the annual Duck Race fund-raising event.

“As always, non-profit vendors will line the street, offering all sorts of refreshment. Stop by the Elks Lodge for the traditional hot dog roast and make sure to say hello to Penn Yan’s friendly merchants,” says Bacher.

Main Street will close to vehicular traffic at 3 p.m. and registration for the event begins at 4 p.m. There is still time to register your vehicle. Visit www.crusinnight.com for the forms and information. Pre-Registration will be accepted until 5 p.m. Thursday, June 14. Registration is available at the event.

Bacher adds, “Don’t hesitate to contact the Chamber team with questions that you may have, 315-536-3111. We look forward to seeing you all this Friday!”
