Estella E. Wood, age 73, of Branchport passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service for Estella will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 22 at Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan.

Estella was born in Corning Nov. 19, 1944 to Lena VanDusen and James Simpson.

Estella worked for 17 years for Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 2008. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and loved the New York Mets and playing a good practical joke. Estella was a very loving and family-oriented mother and grandmother.

Estella is survived by a son, Steven (Rhonda) Wood; daughter, Joanna (Mike) Wood; son, Robert Wood; daughter, Michelle Wood; grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Amber, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Brian and Damien; sisters, Martha Clark and Sharon Henshaw; and brother, Bert Simpson; many half-siblings and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Estella was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Wood; mother, Lena VanDusen; father, James Simpson; and grandson, Dylan Wood.
