In Penn Yan June 22 another 103 teens and in Dundee June 21 another 40 joined the ranks of high school graduates, and Jessica Rossi’s illustration on the Penn Yan Commencement Ceremony program urged her classmates to “Reach for the stars.”

The Penn Yan Commencement Ceremony on the Penn Yan Athletic Complex was the 160th in the school’s history. The June 21 ceremony on the picturesque lawn in front of the Dundee Central School was that school’s 79th. Special traditions make both ceremonies meaningful for each community.

In Penn Yan, the tradition of ringing the bell before the class’s procession was shared this year by Kaitlynne Zeno and Hannah Yonts.
