Local music and entertainment promotion company World X Storm is hosting the second annual “Save the Theatre” fundraiser from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 At the Penn Yan Firemen’s Field. All proceeds will benefit the renovation of the Sampson Theatre on East Elm St. in Penn Yan

Headlining “Save the Sampson” is Whiskey Shivers, the Austin, Texas-based band fronted by Bobby Fitzgerald, a Dundee High School alumnus. Fresh from their European tour where they opened the Cambridge Folk Festival in the UK, Whiskey Shivers were also recently featured in the major motion picture, “Pitch Perfect 3.” 

Second on the bill is rising regional singer Evan Dillon and his band, along with PYTCo. performer and local musician, Randy Knapp, performing in his “Cardiac Comeback Tour.” Other performers include dreAmSKill (in a special hip hop set), Solanis, the Sugar Lumps, The Season and An Artist’s Depiction (in special acoustic sets), and My Cat Jack. 

In addition to the live music, this family-friendly fund raiser event also includes a kids fun fair with a bounce house, a petting zoo, an obstacle course, face painting, and more. Food by Silverbird Woodfired & Gastropub will be available, with beer & wine offered by Lyonsmith Brewing Co.

In conjunction with PYTCo., World X Storm is also offering a VIP Experience for $20 that will include:

- A tour of the Sampson Theatre with participating artists before the show

- Early admission to festival for sound check

- An 11x17 glossy festival poster

- One ticket to PYTCo.’s “Wizard of Oz” for Aug. 11 or 12
