Albert R. Aleixo, age 96, of Dundee, NY died Saturday, October 6, 2018 from natural causes, surrounded by family, close friends, and loving caregiver, Maria Bell from Dundee, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, in Elmira, NY.

Honoring his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours.  A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Dundee Baptist Church, 20 Seneca Street, Dundee, with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Arts Center of Yates County in Penn Yan, NY.

Albert was born in Richmond, California on October 1, 1922 to Joseph and Mary (Souza) Aleixo.

After graduating high school, Albert attended Uppsala College and pursued and earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Art. He spent his time as a professional fine artist, restorer and teacher. He loved religious paintings and painted in both still life and in the style of the great masters. Albert became a prominent restorer of fine oil paintings until he retired. He was a member of the Yates County Art Council. Albert had great faith in God and his lifelong love was his wife, Frances. Other personal passions included dancing and he danced until his nineties.

He is survived by his sons Albert and Jeff in California; his two daughters, Lydia in Pennsylvania and Camille in New York; as well as his three grandchildren, Sophia, Ethan and Ava in California. 

He is predeceased by his wife, Francesca; his parents, Joseph and Mary; and his two brothers, Tony and Arthur.
