The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce announces that on Thursday, Oct. 7 it will be hosting an all new event — A Taste of the Finger Lakes to see, sample and socialize. Taking place at the Watkins Glen Community Center from 6 to 9 p.m., the event’s theme is to capture the essence of culinary creations and farm fresh produce during the “heart of the harvest,” while displaying numerous local restaurants, farm markets, wineries, breweries and other food vendors in the area. All under one roof, attendees will have the opportunity to come see, sample and socialize while enjoying a variety of fabulous Finger Lakes fare on this special evening!

Chamber President Rebekah LaMoreaux stated “This upscale event will provide our members, partners, local culinary geniuses, and famed wine makers an opportunity to showcase their best offerings to the Finger Lakes region as their audience. We’ve made this financially appealing by not only offering economical ticket prices, but also by offering free vendor spaces to enhance visibility to our chamber and community members in hopes of encouraging awareness and commerce.”

Tickets to attend the event will be sold for $35 per person in advance, and $40 at the door. There is no cost for vendors to register a display space for their product, but all reservations for booth spaces must be made no later than Sept. 1. Additionally, all vendors must carry their own insurance, liability, food and liquor licenses where applicable. Sign-up forms will be available on www.watkinsglenchamber.com.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample featured appetizers, main dishes, desserts, wines, spirits, micro brews and more. Vendors will have the opportunity network and enjoy free exposure of their product or organization to an expected crowd of hundreds. Entertainment will also be featured at the event.

For more information, to purchase tickets or sign up for a booth space at this new event, contact the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce at 607-535-4300 or email rebekah@watkinsglenchamber.com by Sept.1.
