A celebration to mark completion of the major renovation and modernization project at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan and the successful conclusion of capital campaign to support the project, will be held Tuesday, March 16 at 2 p.m. The event will take place in the main lobby of the hospital, 418 North Main St., Penn Yan.
The three-phase, $9 million project has encompassed nearly every area inside and outside the hospital. “This project enhances our ability to serve our community,” noted Frank Korich, Vice President and Site Administrator at Soldiers & Sailors.
The celebration and building dedication will include brief remarks from those involved in the project and the campaign at 2 p.m.
The ceremony will be followed by tours of the renovated areas and refreshments.
The focal point of the project has centered on the ground floor, where extensive work has been done, including enhancements to the emergency department, main hospital entrance and lobby, Peppermint Parlor snack bar and gift shop, and several other areas.
Outside improvements feature a roadway from North Avenue to the new drive-under canopy at the hospital’s main entrance, exterior building upgrades, enhanced parking and landscaping, and the addition of new signage
