After being off the air since last Friday night when lightening struck a radio tower, destroying a transmitter, WYLF radio station was back on the air Monday.
Engineers took four hours to install a new transmitter after inspecting the 180 ft. tall tower for structural damage. “We were lucky that we could have a new transmitter built over the weekend and then installed,” said station manager Russ Kimble, adding, “Some radio stations that have experienced similar probelms have been off the air for weeks, not days, waiting for the new equipment.”
