Ella "Shirley" Smith, 88, of Findlay, Ohio passed away at 6:40 a.m. on Monday,
August 9, 2010.

Services will be private with interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan. Online condolences may be made via www.coldrencrates.com.

Donations may be given to the Northwest Ohio Diabetes Assn., 200 W. Pearl St., Findlay, Ohio 45840.

Shirley was born on Aug. 21, 1921, in Geneseo to Charles H. and Marion F. (Knight) Smith. Shirley married Jack F. Smith on Aug. 16, 1947.

Shirley graduated from the Geneseo State Teachers College and was a member
of the Van Buren United Methodist Church. Shirley was a kindergarten and
first grade teacher at Penn Yan Elementary School and Lincoln
Elementary School in Findlay. She was an avid reader, card player and
loved boating.

Shirley is survived by a son, Stephen C. (Terry) Smith of Findlay; two
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband on April 30, 2001, a daughter, Susan M. Debo and by a sister Winiford F. "Winnie" Buckley.
