The Penn Yan Girls' Basketball team suffered two losses last week, both to quality league opponents.

The Mustangs lost at home to the Waterloo Indians January 18th by a score of 46-30. Sophomore Megan Lafferty led the Mustangs with eight points, while senior center Brianna Bush had seven points and 13 rebounds. The Indians were led offensively by Lindsay Johnson, who scored 22 points.

Two days later, the Mustangs lost on the road to the undefeated Newark Reds by a margin of 57-36. Brynn Lauer led the Reds with 17 points, ten assists, and seven rebounds, while Brandi Lauer added 11 points. Junior guard Taylor Travis led Penn Yan with 13 points, while Bush and Lafferty both scored eight points.

Penn Yan's record falls to 2-8.
