Charles “Charlie” Raymond Northrup, 93, died Saturday, July 8, 2017 after a brief illness.

Friends and family may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 11 at the Weldon Funeral Home, 102 East Main St. Penn Yan. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at Weldon Funeral Home followed by burial at Mount Hope Cemetery, Rochester.

Mr. Northrup, a veteran of World War II, was a recipient of the bronze star medal. He was also a life-long artist and is noted for his many landscapes and depictions of local landmarks, including several oil paintings on display at the Yates County Office Building in Penn Yan.

After his retirement from Delco Products in Rochester, Charlie moved to Penn Yan with his wife, Bette, where he lived for over 30 years.

He is survived by his children Jeannine, Patricia, and Charles N., five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Bette and his oldest son, Frederic.
