Blanche I. Brown, 96, of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the Batavia Health Care Center.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan, at noon Saturday, Feb. 17. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.mcandrewfuneralhomes.net.
She was born on June 16, 1921, in Vine Valley to the late Fred and Hazel Lamphier Hadsell.
Blanche worked most of her life at the Seneca Ordinance, Barden Robinson Basket Factory, and Penn Yan Hospital before retiring. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, ceramics and playing Yahtzee. She was known among family members as a great story teller. Her pride and joy in life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence W. Brown; son, Richard; daughter, Bonnie Hall; granddaughter, Valerie Morgan, and grandson, Darryl Brown.
Survivors include her son, Ronald (Barbara) Brown, of Lady Lake, Fla., seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She would wish to acknowledge all the help and support given to her by her grandson, Chris, and his wife, Julie Hall, and loyal family friend, Laurie Bush.
