Daniel J. Whitbeck, 61, of Penn Yan, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 9 at Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan. His Mass of Christain Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10 at St. Michael's Church, Liberty St., Penn Yan. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Penn Yan.
Danny was born in Penn Yan on July 14, 1956, the son of the late Beverly M. and William J. Whitbeck. He was raised in Branchport, and was a member of St. Michael's Church in Penn Yan. Danny had worked for Whitbeck Upholstry, Coach and Equipment and for 20 years he was the ice cream maker for Seneca Farms in Penn Yan. Danny's hobbies included the NY Mets, Oakland Raiders, and watching his NASCAR. Above all, his joys in life included socializing, dancing, and partying with his friends.
Danny is survived by his sister, Sharon A. Whitbeck of Dundee; his brothers, Michael E.Whitbeck of Penn Yan and Robert J. Whitbeck of Canandaigua; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as his many wonderful friends both near and a far. In addition to his parents, Danny was predeceased by his brother, William Edward Whitbeck.
