Marlene H. Guild, 87, of Midland, passed away peaceful on December 13, 2018 at Medilodge of Midland after attending the Annual Residents Christmas Party that afternoon.

Per Marlene’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service and burial will be in Cuba at Cuba Cemetery at a later date.

She was born on Oct. 19, 1931 to the late Lauren and Gladys (Weincke) Horning. On August 13, 1955 she married Walter E. Guild who predeceased her.

Marlene graduated from the State University of New York Fredonia in 1952 with honors. Marlene was a music teacher at Cuba and Penn Yan after graduation.

She sang in and directed the choir at the Penn Yan First Baptist Church. She was also involved in teaching piano lessons to youth. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, Order of Eastern Star, and Business Professional Woman. She received the Business Woman of the Year during her career.

Marlene loved her music, her family, and her many friends.

Marlene is survived by her children Julanne G. (John, Sr.) Roy, Drew L. (Rebecca) Guild; grandchildren John T. (Kelly) Roy, Jr., Harrison A. Roy, Gavin A. Guild, and Hayley E. Guild.
