Jane Serene Szakos, 68, of Esperanza Drive, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m., March 2 at Asbury First United Methodist Church, 1050 East Ave., Rochester. A spring memorial service is being planned to take place on Keuka Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Keuka Comfort Care, 35 Route 54, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
Jane was born in Flekkefjord, Norway, June 26, 1941 to Leonard and Mary Sto. She and her husband, Frank decided to make their home in Rochester. She went on to receive bother her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Biology from the University of Rochester. After retiring from her work at Strong Memorial Hospital, she pursued her dream and established Scandia House gift shop in Hammondsport.
Jane is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ferenc (Frank); her brother, Per of Flekkefjord, Norway; sons, Erik (Lisa) and Mark; and grandchildren, Evan, Stephanie and Megan.
