BEVERLY J. BOOROM
DUNDEE — Beverly J. Boorom,  81, of Dundee, died Wednesday March 11, 2009 in the comfort of her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday March 16, 2009 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., Dundee; where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lucinda O´Leary officiating. Burial followed in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, 14837 or to Ontario-Yates County Hospice Assoc., 756 Pre-Emption Rd., Geneva, 14456.
Beverly was born June 19, 1927 in Owego,  the daughter of the late Lester L. and Nina M. Jackson Eyrich.  She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1945; and went to New Jersey and graduated from Western Union Technical School.  On May 17, 1947 in the Dundee Baptist Church she married William K. Boorom. He passed away on March 10, 1994.

A life-long area resident having lived in Washington, N.C. from 1982-1995; she was employed by Western Union after graduation in Seneca Falls and Elmira.  Later in life she worked as admissions clerk and switchboard operator at Beaufort County Hospital, in Washington, N.C. for nine years, retiring in 1994.  Mrs. Boorom was a member of the Dundee American Legion Bradley-Jessop Post #660, Ladies Auxiliary since 1974, having held all offices; was a past member of the former N.C.H.A. National Campers & Hikers Assoc. Dundee Moonshiners Chapter. Her main passion in life has always been her love and devotion to her family.

She is dearly loved and will be forever missed by two sons, W. Keith Boorom and Thomas E. (Karen Maynard) Boorom both of Dundee; four daughters Nina M. (Gary) DeJong of Bath, N.C., Susan L. Long with whom she made her home, Kimberly R. (Carl) Margeson of Penn Yan, Judith A. (Edward) Messenger of Dundee; seven grandchildren Tamera Ann (Mitch) Silva of Nampa, Idaho, Cameron DeJong of Manchester, N.H., Jamie (Justin) Woolard of Washington, N.C., William (Alicia Wright) Partridge, Megan (Louis E. Shearin III) Boorom, Jacob Boorom, and Matthew Messenger all of Dundee; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Donald W. Eyrich, William L. Eyrich; and two sisters, Marjorie Eyrich, and Mary Anne Boll.

ANN E. CHIDSEY
PENN YAN — Ann E. Chidsey, 45, of Flat Street, Penn Yan, died Friday, March 13 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 16 at Benton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wesley Jenks officiating.

ANN E. CHIDSEY
PENN YAN — Ann E. Chidsey, 45, of Flat Street, Penn Yan, died Friday, March 13 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Weldon Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Chidsey's children's trust fund in care of Roger Chidsey, 1288 Flat St., Penn Yan, the Yates County Humane Society or a charity of one's choice.

Ann was born March 9, 1964 in Erie Pa., the daughter of Charles and Evelyn Meldon Colvin. She was a graduate of Fredonia Central High School as well as Keuka College.
She worked as a social worker for Penn Yan Rape and Abuse Crisis. Ann was a wonderful mother and wife and had a great love of animals as well as Keuka Lake and gardening.

She is survived by her parents Charles and Evelyn Colvin of Erie Pa. and Naples, Fla.; her mother-in-law, Donna Chidsey of Penn Yan; husband, Roger; daughters Danielle and Cassandra; brothers Christopher (Kristin) Colvin of Colorado Springs and Daniel (Aimee) Colvin of Old Lime, Conn.; a sister, Mary K. Colvin of Miami, Fla.; brother-in-law Paul (Joy) Chidsey of Geneva and several nieces and nephews.

MARJORIE C. GAGE
GORHAM- Marjorie C. Gage, 89, of Grove St., Crystal Beach, died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the home of her daughter.

Friends called Tuesday, March 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A service followed at 3 p.m.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road N, Rochester, NY 14609.

Marjorie was born in Canandaigua,  the daughter of Warren Lee Poust and Mary Celestia Young Poust. She was the widow of Maurice A. “Bob” Gage.

Surviving are three children, Thomas Milton (Pat) Gage, Sandra Lee Brodnicki, and Patricia Mary (Ronnie) Bootes; 12 grandchildren, Jr. (Alma) Gage, Bruce (Cheryl) Gage, Dennis (Deb) Gage, Nancy (Jim) Wemett, Steve Gage, Tom Gage, Jr., Renee (John) Yarger, Bobby (Mary) Gage, Mary Brodnicki, Trish (Dave) Harris, Linda (Mark) Opett, and Tom (Shelly) Brodnicki; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several cousins and nieces.
Marjorie was also predeceased by her son, Morris Albert “Sonny” Gage, and her son-in-law, James Brodnicki.

CAROLYN J. HATHAWAY
DUNDEE — Carolyn J. Hathaway, 56, of the town of Tyrone, died Thursday March 12, 2009 at Robert-Packer Memorial Hospital, in Sayre, Pa.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 17 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., Dundee; where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., with Rev. Lucinda O´Leary officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, 14609-5896, or the charity of the donor´s choice.
Carolyn was born Sept. 25, 1952 in Montour Falls, the daughter of Carolton Southard and Shirley Harrington Southard.  On Sept. 19, 1970 in Altay, she married Clifton C. “Chuck” Hathaway. 

A life-long area resident, and full time wife and mother Carol worked in the vineyards for Harry Humphrey in her younger years.  She was a member of Rock Stream Presbyterian Church, and formerly attended the Foster Church in Altay, and the Altay Baptist Church where she sang in the choir; she was a member of the Tyrone Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, knitting, needle point and camping.

She is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband of 38 years, Chuck Hathaway at home; two daughters Heidi M. Hathaway of Montour Falls and Jessica L.(James) Cranmer of Elmira; four grandchildren, Alex and Ryan Hathaway, Jamie (Jesse) Miley, and Mikah Cranmer; her mother Shirley Southard-Swartwood-Harnes of Yreka, Calif.; four brothers, John (Kathy) Southard of Elmira, David (Sandy) Southard of DeRyder, Rodney (Pam) Southard of Corning, Chuck Swartwood of Santa Barbara, Calif; four sisters Wilma (Tim) Brom of Sacramento, Calif., Linda Davis and Kathy (Eddy) Griffin both of Elmira, and Barbie (Scott) Schafer of Magnolia, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by two  infant brothers, Carl Southard, and James Swartwood.
 

NANCY B. KAYS
PENN YAN — Nancy B. Kays, 74, of East Lake Road, Penn Yan died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Rochester General Hospital.

Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at St. Michael’s Church, Liberty St., Penn Yan.  Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Penn Yan.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Keuka Comfort Care Home, PO Box 107, Penn Yan,  NY  14527.

Nancy was born on June 26, 1934 in Scranton, Pa., the daughter of John J. and Beatrice M. McGinnis Curran.  Nancy graduated from Mercy Hospital in Scranton, Pa. as an RN in 1955, was employed at Clifton Springs Hospital,  and retired in 1996 from  Soldier’s & Sailor’s Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan. Nancy was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church. She was instrumental in the creation of Keuka Comfort Care Home in Penn Yan.  She was a former board of director of FLACRA, a current board of director of the Keuka Comfort Care Home, an active member of the Food for the Needy program, and a member of the Lakeside Country Club. 

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bill; children, William J. (Maureen) Kays Jr., Kieran Kays, Kevin (Tracy) Kays,  grandchildren, Conor, Eamon, Liam, Katharine Kays and Harrison Parks; sister, Kathleen (Rick) Leibenguth; nephew, Eric Leibenguth; and numerous cousins.

JACK L. KELLOGG SR.
DUNDEE
— Jack L. Kellogg Sr., 75, of Bath formerly of Dundee and Corning died Wednesday March 11, 2009 at Fred & Harriett Taylor Health Center, in Bath.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 13 with an American Legion Service at the conclusion of calling hours; at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., Dundee; where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14 with Rev. Lucinda O´Leary officiating. Burial with full military honors followed in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Yates County Unit, P.O. Box 113, Penn Yan,  14527, or the Fred & Harriett Taylor Health Center, 7571 State Rte 54, Bath, 14810.

Jack was born November 20, 1933 in Corning, the son of the late Earl and Helen Dixon Kellogg. On June 5, 1953 in Corning he married the former Irene M. Van Alstin; she passed away on April 17, 1998.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. A retired roofer for Allison-Daniels of Penn Yan, Jack drove truck for 20 years for the former J.B. Mulby’s Wholesale Grocers. He retired in 1978.

Mr. Kellogg was a Life Member, and Past Sargent of Arms of the Dundee American Legion Bradley-Jessop Post 660, a Life Member of the 40 et 8, and a member of the  Dundee V.F.W. Goodrich-Smith Post #8649.

He is loved and will be missed by two sons Jack L. (Ronda) Kellogg Jr. of Brockport, Jim L. (Theresa) Kellogg of Himrod; two daughters, Helen V. (Jeffrey) Ripley of Himrod, and Jane L. Benson of Dundee; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his younger brother James Kellogg in the 1930s and his twin sister Juliet Earl in 1988.

ROY A. KILTON
DUNDEE — Roy A. Kilton, 73, of Dundee, died Sunday March 15, 2009 in the comfort of his home.

Honoring his wishes, there were no prior calling hours. A graveside service with Full Military Honor’s was held at 10  a.m. Tuesday, March 17 at Bath National Cemetery, Bath with Pastor Lawrence Semans and Assistant Paster David Semans officiating.

Roy was born June 11, 1935 in West Canaan, N.H., the son of Raymond James and Lois Lucy Hoyt Kilton. He served in the U.S. Army from January 1953 to January 1956. On June 14, 1968 in West Canaan, N.H. he married the former Elizabeth Martha Braley. He worked as a mill worker by A.D. Dewey Co.; a woolen mill in Enfield, N.H. for 15 years and then at Split Ball Bearing in Lebanon, N.H. for five years, before being disabled in 1974. 

He and his wife have moved back and forth between New Hampshire. and the Wayne, Tyrone, Dundee areas ever since; settling in Dundee finally in 2008. Mr. Kilton was a former member and Past Master of the Crystal Valley Grange, and a former member of the Dundee V.F.W. Goodrich-Smith Post #8649, and the Wayne Fire Dept. He was a volunteer at the White River Junction V.A. Hospital in Vermont for many years.

He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 40 years, “Betty” Kilton at home; a son, Kenneth C. Kilton, two daughters, Pamela J. (John) Coburn of Columbus, Ohio and Karen M. (James) Moore of Charlestown, N.H.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Peter F. Kilton on Dec. 25, 1995; an infant brother, Raymond James Kilton; and three sisters, Bessie Ballou, Arlene Kilton and Kathleen Veixleux.

DOROTHY H. YAUTZEY
GORHAM — Dorothy H. Yautzy, 86, passed away at her home on Thursday, March 12, 2009.
Friends may call Monday, March 16 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Shuman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario County Office of the Aging, Meals on Wheels Program, 3010 County Complex Drive,   Canandaigua, NY 14424; or to the Crystal Beach Fire Dept., 4468 East Lake Rd., Canandaigua, NY 14424.

Dorothy was born in Stanley, the daughter of Niels and Helen Jensen. She married Martin J. Yautzy of Gorham, on August 23, 1947.
She was a lifelong Gorham area resident.

She is survived by her son, Philip (Terri) Yautzy; daughter, Karen  Yautzy; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Charles Yautzy and Leland Tichenor; sisters-in-law, Eva Holcomb and Amelia Jensen; and lifelong friend, Eleanor Affleck.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Martin Yautzy, in 2007; brother, Donald Jensen; sisters, Marie Phelps and Lorraine Tichenor; sister-in-law, Ruth Yautzy, brothers-in-law, James Holcomb and Donald Phelps; and nephew, Gary Yautzy.
