Howard I. Milliman, 83, of Guyanoga Road, Branchport, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 5, 2010.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan. His funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Barbara Gifford officiating. Interment will follow at Branchport Cemetery.

Howard was born on March 8, 1926 in Penn Yan, the son of the late Ivan and Edna Milliman.
Howard was a veteran of World War II, serving in 15th Division of the U.S. Army Air Corps. as a tailgunner and completing 24 missions. He retired as a truck driver from Seneca Foods in Dundee, after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Johnson-Costello American Legion Post #355 and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Howard loved to spend time with his family and have coffee with his friends.
Howard is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Phyllis; his three children, Deborah Milliman, Thomas Milliman, and Tamara (Edward) Benziger; four grandchildren, Derek Milliman, Daniel Milliman, Nicole Benziger, and Alyssa Benziger; two sisters, Arlene Castner and Doris Strong; and special niece, Janet Castner.
