Elsie (Poulsen) Bailey died on August 2, 2010.
Family and friends may call from 9:30-11 a.m.m Friday August 6, 2010 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church located at 135 Hamilton St. Penn Yan, where a service will be held at 11 a.m.

Elsie was born to Martin (Chris) and Laura (Marie) Poulsen on Aug. 29, 1922 in Penn Yan. She was a former manager of the old Market Basket located on the corner of North Avenue and Main Street in Penn Yan.
During her marriage she helped Ken at the Variety Store when they needed to make Easter baskets or helped on the sales floor. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Penn Yan, whetherit was organizing dinners, receptions, bible study or whatever the church needed. She and Ken spent several years Square Dancing with the Penn Yan Friendship Square.
Their retirement years were spent at their cottage on Keuka Lake, trips to Hawaii, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and a cruise to the Caribbean, which included St Thomas and the surrounding islands.
Elsie is survived by her daughter, Linda Bailey Shaw of Penn Yan and Syracuse, son-in-law Donald Shaw of Syracuse, granddaughter Laura Shaw of Syracuse, Brother Art (Fran) Poulsen of Waterloo and numerous nieces,nephews and cousins.
She was preceded by her husband Ken, her parents, a brother, Victor Poulsen, and friends.
