Carolyn M. Crandell Rexford, 78, of Tyrone, died Thursday August 12, 2010 after an extended illness.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16 at the Baird Funeral Home 36 Water St. Dundee, where a funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 7 p.m., with Pastor Adam Hunt officiating. She will be buried at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17 in Tyrone Union Cemetery, Tyrone.

Carolyn was born on October 23, 1931 in Shahola, Pa.
She was the daughter of the late Merrill R. and Mabel McKean Crandell. Carolyn married Jesse H. Rexford on Nov. 20, 1947 in Corning. Carolyn spent most of her life as a homemaker, devoting herself to her children. She was a past member of the Tyrone chapter of the Ladies Home Bureau, and the Tyrone Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of the Waneta Lake Baptist Chapel in Wayne.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her children, Richard (Connie) Rexford of Tyrone, David (Donna) Rexford of Slocumb, Ala, Diana (Danny) Gunnoe of Rock Stream, Karen (John) Petrie of Tyrone and Joseph (Heather) Rexford of Dundee; 12 grandchildren Chad, Timothy, Dawn, Michelle, Levi, Shawn, Tammy, Jessica, Kayla, Vanessa, Haley and Jesse; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn is also survived by her faithful companion, Smokey.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jesse on March 31, 2003 and a granddaughter, Theresa M. Rexford on Nov. 1, 2009.
