James C. “Cat” Rolfe, 74, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 19 at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20 at the funeral home. Burial was in Little Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stanley Fire Company., P.O. Box 481 Stanley, NY 14561.

Jim was born in Geneva, the son of the late Carlton and Dorothy Dinehart Rolfe. He retired in 1993 from NYSEG after 38 years of service, and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. He was a life member and past chief and commissioner of the Stanley Fire Company. He was a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Geneva Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by four daughters, Susan (Ralph) McPherson of Penn Yan, Sylvia (Daniel) Spoor of Canandaigua, Anne (William) Minns of Geneva and Jill (Craig) Wager of Penn Yan; seven grandchildren: Kendra (Matthew) Reed, Jacob Minns, Kyle (Caryn) Minns, John Spoor, Jim Spoor, Brian Wager and Geoff Wager and; two great-grandsons, Max and Maddox Minns; four step-grandchildren, Lynn, Lori, Leslie and Laine; seven step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lyle (Alberta) Rolfe; two nieces and two nephews; and several aunts and cousins.
Jim was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Bentley Rolfe in 2001.
