STUART R. BISHOP JR.
GENEVA — Stuart R. Bishop, Jr., age 83, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at The Homestead in Penn Yan.
Friends may call Thursday, April 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Rev. Trudy Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Benton Cemetery.

Stuart was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was retired from the New York State Experiment Station in Geneva. He was a member of the Hall Fire Department, the Stanley-Hall-Gorham Ambulance and the Penn Yan Ambulance. He taught first-aid and helped set up the Geneva Ambulance Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Julia Orton Bishop; two sons, Timothy Bishop of Canandaigua and James Bishop of Middlesex; brother-in-law, Elvin Orton, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Esther Orton Noonan.
BRADY M. ELLIS
PENN YAN — Brady M. Ellis, 79, of Sherman Hollow Road, Penn Yan died Monday, March 24, 2008 peacefully at home.
Friends and family called on Thursday, March, 27, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 East Elm St., Penn Yan a memorial service followed at 7 p.m.

Brady was born Jan.19, 1929 in Berwick, Pa., the son of Jake and Julia Hill Ellis. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a past member of the American Legion and the Penn Yan Moose Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener.
Brady is survived by his children, Frank (Melody) Ellis, Catherine (Harry) Arcangeli, Rodney (Cindy) Ellis Sr., Connie (Ron) Crane, Terri Milam, Patrick (Sherry) Ellis, Peggy (Ed) Linthicum, John (Ann) Ellis, Dorothy (William) Volz, Thom (Melissa) Ellis, Lisa (Miguel) Miranda; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Allen) Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Ryleigh Ellis; great grandchild, Tasha Ellis.

GORDON G. ENOS
PENN YAN – Gordon G. Enos , 71, of Stiles Road, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday April 2 at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A funeral service will be held Thursday April 3 at 11 a.m. at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Hall.

Gordon was a member of the Teamster’s Union for 30 years. He drove for Penn Yan Express, CEX, and then Howard’s Express until he retired in 1991. He returned to part-time work for Keuka Packaging since 2002.
Gordon enjoyed his family, NASCAR races, hunting and caring for his animals. He was a member of the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Hall; the Hall Fire Co.; the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club; the North American Hunting Club; and the Central New York Classic Cruisers.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alma Jepsen Enos; two sons, Mark (Phyllis) Enos, and Randy Enos; one daughter, Gwen Hardy; three grandchildren, Jason Enos, Heather (Dan Matheny ) Enos, and Ashley (Brian Lewis) Enos; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Spencer and Jaxon Enos; one sister, Shirley (Raymond) Anderson; one brother, Harold (Emogene) Enos; and one sister-in-law, Alice Enos.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Kenneth, Gerald and Howard Enos; and one sister, Oletha Rugg.
JANET HARRINGTON
BEDFORD, MASS. — Janet Harrington, 91, formerly of Wilmington, Del. died on Sunday, March 23 at the Carleton-Willard Village nursing facility in Bedford, Mass.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Christ Church Christiana Hundred, 505 East Buck Road, Wilmington, Del.. Interment will be private in the Wilmington & Brandywine Cemetery, Wilmington, Delaware.

Born in 1916, she was the daughter of Niles Theodore and Eleanora Holmgren. Raised in Amityville, N.Y., she attended Syracuse University and Keuka College, where she actively served on the board of trustees from 1966 until 1981, four years as board chair. Including her tenure as trustee emerita, her leadership and generous support of Keuka College spanned four different administrations. In 1987 Keuka College awarded her an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree.
After college, she lived and worked in Penn Yan marrying Captain Keith Tilson Barden USMC in 1942. Captain Barden died at Okinawa in 1945. She married Willis F. Harrington, Jr. in Penn Yan in 1953. The Harringtons lived in Youngs-town, NY for eight years before E.I. duPont Company transferred them to Wilmington, Del. in 1961.
While in Wilmington, she was active in numerous civic organizations.
She was an accomplished fly fisherman and enjoyed playing golf and bridge. She used her proficiency with hand sewing to craft original costumes with her husband for masquerades.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Holm (Joycelyn) Barden of Baton Rouge, La.; her daughter Lisa Harrington (George) Foote of Carlisle, Mass.; siblings Harvey Holmgren of Sebastian, Fla.; Robert Holmgren of Vero Beach, Fla.; and Virginia Sparke of Holbrook; grandsons Trip Barden of Wyoming, Watts Barden of Idaho, Keith Barden of Florida, Tully Foote of California and Tudor Foote of Carlisle, Mass.; two great-grandsons and 20 nieces and nephews.
Her older brothers, Ted and Jack Holmgren, predeceased her.
ALETHA M. JONES
ROCHESTER— Aletha M. Jones, 101, died March 27, 2008.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at The Friendly Home, 3156 East Ave., Rochester. Contributions in her memory may be made to The Friendly Home.
Aletha was born in Penn Yan at her home on Keuka Street.
She is predeceased by her husband, Franklin A. Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Harry) Mangurian of Fla.; granddaughters, Terry (John) Skuse and Tracy (David) Jenkins of Florida; great-grandsons, Brian and Jeffrey Skuse, Thomas and Scott Berry. Aletha was a longtime member of Brighton Presbyterian Church in Rochester.
RICHARD W. MCLOUD
AMHERST, VA. — Richard William McLoud, 79, of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Medical Care Center.
A graveside service will be conducted in Italy Hill Cemetery, Italy Hill..
Born Jan. 25, 1929 in Jerusalem, he was the son of the Ulysses Grant and Belle Hopkins McLoud. Mr. McLoud was a resident of Amherst since his retirement in 1970 from the Merchant Marines and was a Korean War Veteran having served in the U..S Navy aboard the USS Siboney and the USS Midway. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth Woodland McLoud.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Erin M. Adams of Amherst and Annette D. Jordan of Amherst; one son, Mark DeWilde and wife Holly of Ithaca; five grandchildren: Ashleigh and Smith Adams of Amherst, Katy Palmer of Newport News and Alex and Chris DeWilde of Ithaca; two great grandchildren; Dakota and Logan Palmer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters; and by a son-in-law, Larry Jordan.

HARRIE B. “SKIP” MOORE JR.
TYRONE/DUNDEE — Harrie B. “Skip” Moore Jr., 87, of Waneta Lake, died Sunday March 30, 2008 in the comfort of his home overlooking his beloved Waneta Lake.
Honoring his wishes there are no prior calling hours. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the convenience of the family on a date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s local Humane Society.
“Skip” was born Oct. 3, 1920 in Lyons, the son of Harrie B. and Eula Putnam Moore Sr. A graduate of R.I.T., he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. On March 31, 1946 in Caledonia, he married the former Nancy L. Roberts. He retired after 40 years of employment by Eastman Kodak of Rochester, in 1980. They have lived along Waneta Lake since 1982, previously of North Chili.
Mr. Moore was a former Tyrone Town Supervisor; a member of C.B.I. China, Burma, India Veterans Group; a former Volunteer Fireman in N. Chili, a former Flagman for the S.C.C.A. in Watkins Glen; and was very active in Boy Scouts, as a former Scoutmaster and Past District Commissioner when his sons were young. In his spare time he loved sailing on Waneta Lake, cars, and his dogs.
He is loved and will be missed by his wife of 62 years, Nancy R. Moore at home; three sons, Bob E. (Chris) Moore of Hilton, Richard A. Moore of Tucsan, Ariz, Tom A. (Karen) Moore of Rochester; two daughters Nancie L. (Jack) Collison of Mountain Top, Pa. and Mary Cay (Bob Dengler) Wessel of Canandaigua; two sisters Jeanne (Richard) Blom of Wisconsin and Dottie Lou (Richard) Blackwell of Florida; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a sister Barbara “Bobbie” Porter in 2005.

PENN YAN — Marion A. Northrup, 84, of Chapel Street, Penn Yan died March 27, 2008 at the Homestead.
A private graveside service was held at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan. Memorials may be made to the Yates County Humane Society.
Born Aug. 24, 1923 in Olean, she was the daughter of Ervin and Marie (Maloney) Shepard. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Francis; son, Ronnie (Carolyn) Northrup of Penn Yan; daughters, Diane (Robert) Hubbard of Naples and Glenda (Sid) Thompson of Penn Yan; grandchildren, Ronnie (Tina) Northrup of Penn Yan; Master Sergeant Donnie (Tracey) Northrup of Milton, Fla.; Kelly (Shawn) Herrick of Hudson Falls; Michael (Tracey) Hubbard of Branchport; Roger (Krystal) Hubbard of Glens Falls and 16 great-grandchildren.
DALE “FESS” PULVER
GENEVA- Dale “Fess” Pulver, 56, died Thursday, March 27, 2008.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 2 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham, where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m.

Dale worked for several area farmers and was currently employed by Terry Bodine Trucking. He was also a member of the IBEW Local 840.
Dale loved his family, farming, golf and NASCAR. He was a life-member of the Stanley Fire Dept.
Dale is survived by his wife, Lisa; children, Michael and Caitlyn Pulver; sisters, Jane (George) Hinchman, Elaine (Carl) Mallaber, and Gail “Sis” (Rob) Velte; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Pauline Vaillancourt Pontes; brothers-in-law, Al M. Pontes and Dan L. (Kristin) Addona Pontes; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dale was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ethel Cripps Pulver; and his sister, Louise Miles.
HELEN R. WHITAKER
PENN YAN — Helen R. Whitaker, 84, of East Lake Road, died March 29 at Geneva General Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, April 6 at the Lake Keuka Baptist Church with the Rev. John Busch officiating. A dish-to-pass dinner will follow at the church following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Yates County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
Helen was born Jan. 4, 1924 in the town of Barrington to Herman and Ila West. She was a homemaker and member of the Lake Keuka Baptist Church and Yates County Genealogical and Historical Society.
She is survived by her daughters, Phylls J. Bailey and Ruth Hall, both of Penn Yan and a granddaughter, Rachel L. Bailey.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Whitaker in 1978.
