James Gary Farmen, of East Lake Road, Penn Yan, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at home.
Friends and family may call from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan. A celebration of his life will be held immediately following at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jim was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Jan. 17, 1944, the son of Lyle and Susan Jones Farmen. He served in the U.S. Army from May 1966 to May 1968, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Sharpshooter Medal. Jim retired from City Bank in Pittsford. Jim loved life and nature and will be remembered for enjoying them both to the fullest.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (Wolcott) Farmen; sons, Todd (Erica), Jeffery (Summer), Daniel (Joli), and Jonathan (Julie) Farmen; six grandchildren; a sister, Laurie Farmen; mother and father-in-law, Hannelore Wolcott-Bailey and Thomas Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
