L. Holland Taylor M.D., 87 of Belleair Beach, Fla. formerly of Rochester and Penn Yan, passed away January 26, 2010 at home.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Jan.30 at the Church of the Isles of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. and moved to Collingswood N.J. as a child. He graduated from Collingswood High School, Dickinson College and the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
He practiced internal medicine in the Rochester area for 35 years and was a member of the Monroe County and New York State Medical Societies. At Dickinson College, Dr. Taylor was president of his class of 1948, and a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, Skull and Key, and Omicron Delta Kappa. During World War II he was a pilot in the 62nd Troop Carrier Group flying C-47's in Italy, Germany and the Balkans.
In Rochester Dr. Taylor attended Browncroft Community Church, and Lake Keuka Baptist Church in Penn Yan.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Connie; children Dr. Christine Taylor (Van) Waddill, Paul Holland Taylor and James Hazelwood (Liz) Taylor; a sister Elizabeth Littleton; grandchildren Holly and Meredith Stephens, Matthew and Francie Taylor, great-grandchildren Aiden and Meredith Precht; several nieces and nephews.
